War Games offers an exploration of human perception and the dissemination of images and information by today's media.
Venieri presents the faces of dolls, innocent and naive, as a harmless, welcoming symbol for the viewer to approach. Yet the dolls' innocence is betrayed by the harsh images their eyes reflect: images of war, suicide bombings, and genocide ripped straight from CNN and Fox news. Her work exposes both the vulnerability of human perception and its fragile relationship with the media today.
